Byker Community Trust 2014 - 2016
- 2014 - Independent evaluation of contracts for housing management and maintenance, set up as part of the 2012 estate transfer from Newcastle City Council;
- 2015 - Options Appraisal and advice to BCT Board regarding long term options for management and maintenance, designed to improve efficiency and quality of service. Resulted in decision to bring housing management in house and to become part of a cost sharing partnership for repairs;
- 2016 - Design and Management of the Service Transformation Project to deliver the Board's preferred options.
County Durham Housing Group 2014 - 15
- Leading the process for County Durham Housing Group and its group members to achieve Registration with the Homes & Communities Agency, as a pre-requisite to stock transfer in 2015.
- Advice and Support for all group members to achieve compliance with the NHF Code of Governance.
Newcastle City Council 2014 - 15
- Critical Friend to the Council throughout its Strategic Review of arrangements with its housing services provider, Your Homes Newcastle
- Delivery of joint NCC and YHN staff workshops across the review programme to identify efficiencies, improvements in services to tenants and opportunities for closer alignment between the two organisations
- Review of Customer Contact arrangements across the Council and YHN in preparation for transition to digital services.
Adler Housing 2013 -15
- Advice and guidance to the Jewish Community Council of Gateshead, to enable them to register their subsidiary Adler Housing Ltd as a not for profit housing provider with the Homes & Communities Agency (March 2014).
- Advice and support to JCCG and Adler Housing to ensure compliance with the HCA's Regulatory Code (now Regulatory Framework) and NHF Code of Governance.
- Evaluation of options for management and maintenance of Adler Housing's properties.
Contract North Consortium 2014
- Design and delivery of workshops with a range of third sector providers looking to collaborate in order to secure additional business especially in relation to the National Offender Management Service;
- Identification of the Consortium's objectives and priorities; preparation of their first Strategic Plan and associated arrangements for implementation.
Emmaus Enterprises 2013
- Due Diligence Report for Emmaus Enterprises in respect of a social enterprise specialising in training and the refurbishment of white goods.
Previous Assignments
Identifying new business opportunities - support provider
Part of the client organisation's expansion strategy. My role was to identify new business opportunities in a rapidly changing commissioning environment; then preparing and submitting bid documentation. I have developed systems for managing the new business pipeline. And working with the operations director, I have helped the organisation to prepare to accomodate clients who direct their own support; and be able to operate on a 'payment by results' basis.
Support Strategy - housing association group
Bringing a draft strategy to publication standard. Creation of a short strategy statement setting out the organisational vision and creation of a structured supporting document for internal use. Together these documents are capable of taking the organisation from Vision to Implementation. Design of the consultation process throughout the Group.
Assessing the housing needs of vulnerable people - local authority
Evidence based report for a west midlands local authority which makes practical and realistic recommendations designed to encourage health, housing and social care services to work together for the benefit of residents with care and support needs. The report is structured to enable professionals to assess the impact each recommendation will have for the social care outcomes framework, and for making best use of the housing stock in all tenures.

Corporate Performance Reporting Framework - local authority
Development and implementation of an organisation wide framework for reporting progress towards corporate objectives. The structure includes an executive report and concise supporting reports for each of the local authority's corporate objectives - all underpinned by evidence and statistics which are book-marked to each objective.
Empty Homes Funding - charity
Preparation of successful bid to Department for Communities and Local Government under the Empty Homes Community Grants Programme. Design of project management structure to implement the delivery of the resulting purchase and repair programme.
Options appraisal for housing ALMO - local authority
Report setting out an assesment of the options avaialble to a local authority approaching the end of the ALMO agreement, including assessment of risks, opportunities and impact for each stakeholder group.
